Poppy Paper
A creative studio founded as a more sustainable alternative to real flowers, offering a product that is not only visually stunning but also long-lasting, ethically crafted, and locally produced.
Poppy Paper was founded with my business partner in September 2020 as part of my studies at the Copenhagen School of Technology and Design, during the academic program Entrepreneurship and Design. Our mission was to build a business from the ground up, establish a brand, and generate profit.
However, Poppy Paper evolved far beyond its original concept, growing into a long-term project filled with exciting opportunities. In addition to leading product development and overseeing creative tasks, we focused extensively on brand collaborations, partnering with both large and smaller businesses.
Poppy Paper has left its mark in many private homes and adorned prominent stores and companies across Copenhagen, including ByBiehl, JORE Copenhagen, Randi Lauvdal Blomster, NEH Startup Hub, KEA, and Lé Lago Vêtements.
A Greener Alternative to Real Flowers
From the start, our mission was to provide a sustainable alternative to real flowers, catering to those seeking eco-friendly options in an industry known for its environmental impact. We invested significant effort in researching the harmful practices of the flower industry to understand the true costs of those seemingly beautiful blooms. Additionally, we aimed to work with local Scandinavian partners and source materials exclusively from Danish companies, using only FSC-certified paper for our flowers. While any production has some environmental footprint, we strived to be as eco-conscious as possible, making a difference in a large and damaging industry.
